Handmade Handcranked Chainstitch Embroidered Philly Phanatic Patch - Philadelphia Phillies Baseball FanGear World Series

Oh hey friends! This is my first addition of chainstitched patches to my store. I'm so excited to share my love of this craft with you. In 2021 I began learning the ins and outs of chainstitch, and I'm feeling comfortable enough to make something for purchase on my store. Welcome to the start of something new!

Decades ago, a flightless bird from the Galapagos islands migrated to Philadelphia and nested in our baseball fields. Since then, the bird has built a following and commands the attention of as many as 50,000 fans at a time. The Philly Phanatic patch measures 5" by 5.5" and is made with acrylic wool thread. It's double-backed with white and red felt, meaning there's an extra piece of felt protecting the back of the patch where the evidence of all the custom chain stitchery is! I made this on my industrial chain stitch machine, using the hand crank underneath to steer where I go, and finished with hand-stitched one-by-one flakes of salt. Each Phanatic is unique just like the Phanatic itself.

You could sew this patch to a garment of your choice, or iron it on with an iron-on adhesive (just click the drop-down so I know to add the paper to your package). Hand sewing is best as it allows you to remove the patch without damaging the original garment. I like the idea of it on a jean jacket but I've seen patches pinned on straw bags, attached to backpacks, and even on a bandana. The world is yours to decorate <3

*Wash as gently as possible - preferably by hand - and lay flat to dry for long lasting durability of your patch. Fuzziness is expected over time*
